Cheers for listening and commenting.
Its not really my genre either! And sounds nothing like the bands I play in, so just kept it very simple. Glad you like. more…

I just listened to the track. I'm not a musician, but as they say, I know what I like; and your song was very good. Not my genre, really, but well played, well sung. Bravo! more…

the anti-war march did make a difference, albeit not of the kind that its particpants intended. the fact that it happened gave opponents of the government something concrete to refer to when deriding the war in iraq, and it stood out as a clear example of the current administration being out of touch with the greater public. this may not seem like more…

Like I said, for raising awareness the concert was spot-on. But it claimed to be so much more than that; I don't think it puts pressure on the G8 leaders what so ever, because it wasn't a march, it was a rock concert. And lets put things in perspective;
anti-war march: 2 million people.
make poverty history march: 200,000 people. more…

Hey J-man,
I said in my post what I didn't like about it and I stand by it. I watched most of it on TV and thought it was an awesome show and it definately raised awareness of the problem. (Loved the doves that got released during U2s set!)
The corruption was everywhere from allowing Nokia to be a sponsor of the event (&am more…

Bit cynical dude. I very much doubt many of the musicians are doing it for the increased sales. Would that be your first thought if asked to perform? And yes, of course there would be fewer people if it was just a march - which is why they're doing the concerts - to achieve more media coverage, more public interest and more widespread awareness abo more…

I went to the Net Aid concert in 1999. I bet you don't know what I'm talking about. Most people don't. It was meant to be the 2nd Live Aid. And in many ways it was. I can't remember the figure but the 3 or 4 concerts that were held around the world did raise quite a bit of money without the shitty PR stuff that's going on around Live 8. Of course m more…
